Office management, administrative/clerical experience preferred
Ability to work under pressure and respond to short
deadlines
Strong computer skills and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Willing to accept early morning and late calls

Performance
Responsibilities:
- Review Bulletin 119 – Louisiana School Transportation Specifications and Procedures and Pointe Coupee Parish Policy File ED, Student Transportation Management
- Regularly correspond with First Student regarding all First Student Routes of Pointe Coupee Parish Students
- Map out all routes and make copies for future use; frequently update maps and routes
- Record all pre-check and post trip lists for each driver
- Record all absentees of drivers and substitute drivers
- Arrange for a substitute drivers as needed
- Address all complaints and issues from bus drivers, parents, principals; contact supervisors and principals accordingly
- Review all bus turn around issues and follow up; record turn around information, fax and file the appropriate paper work as well as visiting turn around sites as needed
- Pull and review cameras/videos from buses as needed for investigative purposes
- Arrange yearly MVR checks on all drivers
- Remove cameras from buses randomly to check the status of the cameras, drivers and students for compliance
- Review and Check drivers’ physicals
- Check bus inspection papers on all buses biannually
- Arrange monthly random drug testing for bus drivers
- Efficiently manage files for maintenance and compliance
- Visit and take notes of accident sites
- Visit schools to check the status of transportation
- Arrange orientation and meetings year round for bus operators
- Prepare and mail all correspondence to bus drivers
- Check monthly fuel prices (to average fuel supplements)
- Send out monthly absentee list to every school and to the bookkeeping office.
- Complete the yearly Transportation Student Ridership Survey for all public and private schools in the parish
- Arrange and Bid routes when a driver retires or leaves the system
- Record, file and report all Emergency Evacuation Drills
- Compile and record all drivers Edu-Logs (route in detail) and deliver to the substitute drivers as needed
- Check and record all mileage reports and check the route on mapping system for accuracy
- Record all Transportation Data Forms (number of students riding buses)
- Report driver information to the insurance company
- Repeatedly check the bus drivers bus VIN numbers, license, inspections, insurance and physicals to ensure records are current and up to date
- Notify all principals, parents and appropriate personnel of routes that are overloaded or identified as needing change prior to the official date of change
- Notify all schools and bus drivers of road closures and detours
- Assist central office clerks with filing, and logging in work orders for the maintenance workers and purchase orders
- Perform duties and assignments as directed by Superintendent and Director of Human Capital.
